Durham City Smiles is now at the Crossgate Centre Durham

Hi there! I know it’s been a while since my last entry, but I have been extremely busy of late with the opening of our brand new practice, yes – Durham City Smiles have moved!!

Myself and the whole team have relocated to our new, state of the art practice in the Crossgate Centre in Durham. It’s been a hectic time but well worth the effort as the new place is fantastic!

I like to call it ‘a dental practice for the 21st Century’; as you know I like to keep up to date with all the latest technologies and while I was at a convention in New York, (yes I made it to ‘the big apple’!!), I came across my latest gadget – a soft tissue lazer. Basically the lazer is used to cut through soft tissue but, very importantly for my patients, does this in a way which reduces tooth sensitivity, bruising and jaw pain.

So back to the new Crossgate Centre practice; as well as offering all the latest techniques in cosmetic, and implant dentistry and oral hygiene, it also looks amazing! I wanted the building to be modelled around the needs of my patients and while being open and spacious, I also wanted it to be friendly and unimposing. We have an open, airy reception area, two state of the art surgeries and a lovely decked area, all themed around a clean and simple design. It was important to me to make the dental experience a relaxing one for my patients – I am so happy with how this has turned out, it really is a ‘breath of fresh air’.

We are having a launch party for the new practice on Friday 22nd October from 6pm till 8pm. I want the party to be about thanking everyone who has been involved in putting this project together. It’s taken a lot of hard work and certainly wouldn’t have been possible without everyone in the team being a part of it. We will be inviting Doreen, our much loved senior patient, to cut the opening ribbon for us!
