We’ve had a think about the terms we use in the practice and thought we’d offer an explanation as best we could. A few dental terms – tongue firmly in cheek with these:

  • Bridge – Dentists favourite card game.
  • Braces – A way to stop your kids dating.
  • Bonding – Spending time with your dentist.
  • Bicuspids – A tooth that goes both ways.
  • B.D.S. – Bachelor of Dental Sadism.
  • Bite Wings – How the Tooth Fairy gets around.
  • Plaque – Dentist’s qualification certificate.
  • Oral Surgeon – Talkative Dentist (Graeme!)
  • Hygienist – Dentist’s cleaning lady.
  • Novocaine – Good excuse for drooling.
  • Tartar – Great with Halibut and Scampi.
  • Drill – Marching in formation.
  • Decay – De 11th letter of de alphabet.
  • Eye Tooth – What you’d give not to be here.
  • Flossing – Second most lied about activity.
  • Filling – A big dinner.
  • Gingivitis – Gordon’s and Listerine on the rocks.
